A Bluetooth controller is still smaller than a 3DS, even paired with a phone. Also, it's not like you need it all the time. Really, it's only necessary for action oriented games. A phone really is perfect. You get modern emulators with tons of features and eye candy (if you're into shaders) with retroarch, and most phones, especially with sd cards, have enough space to carry the entire libraries of all supported 2d era consoles. With a big 128GB SD card you can probably put all PSP and PS1 games (without duplicates/different regions) on there, too. • • • • • • •. Actually the biggest problem with phones is battery life, at least with a seperate handheld you won't suck away your phone's battery if something urgent come up - unless you have a powerbank/batterypack with you then it's a okay secondly the form factor of phones is not that great for retro games once you include a separate gamepad into the mix. Sure some of them can clamp on to the phone, but most of the more portable ones can't, and even then it's not well balanced since the vast majority of controller should be more light weight than the phone itself (and even worse when your phone has a case or simply being too big) on the software side - it's perfect no doubt (on Android at least). Hardware - not really • • • • • • •.
